Cool Burn Fire Demonstration & Workshop

  • Holloway 349 Powers Road Monto, Queensland, 4630 Australia (map)

Join BMRG for a practical, hands-on field day exploring how cool burning can support resilient grazing landscapes, protect agricultural land, and reduce bushfire risk.

Hosted at “Holloway” in Monto, this complimentary workshop will share practical knowledge on safe cool burn planning, fire behaviour, fuel loads, seasonal conditions, and landscape management.

Participants will see cool burning principles applied in a real-world setting and learn directly from an experienced practitioner. Delivered as part of the Empowering Adaptive Graziers in the Burnett Mary project, this event supports landholders to make informed, place-based decisions that strengthen ecosystem health, farm resilience, and long-term landscape outcomes.

This complimentary field day is made possible through The Empowering Adaptive Graziers in the Burnett Mary, delivered by the Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG), part of the $6 million Grazing Practice Change Program funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program.
