Build the Skills and Systems to Manage Climate Risk
From dry spells to downpours, climate variability is shaping the future of agriculture in our region. Join BMRG for a practical, hands-on workshop designed to strengthen your confidence in using climate information to inform on-farm decisions.
Delivered in partnership with the Northern Australia Climate Program (NACP), and featuring experts from the University of Southern Queensland and the Bureau of Meteorology, these workshops will equip landholders with tools, insights, and forward-looking strategies to better manage climate risk.
Together, we’re building capability across the Burnett Mary—supporting informed decision-making that benefits productivity, profitability, and ecosystem resilience.
What You’ll Learn
Both workshops will cover:
Key climate drivers influencing our region — and what they mean locally
Where to access reliable weather and climate information
How to interpret seasonal forecasts and apply them to on-property decisions
A practical planning session focused on the next three months
Strategies for managing livestock heat and cold stress
Hands-on use of the NACP App and green date calculations
This is an interactive session. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
