Climate Smart Agriculture Field Day

  • Golden Hill Farm 5771 Lowmead Road Rosedale, Queensland, 4674 Australia (map)

Join us at Golden Hill Farm in Rosedale on for an afternoon field demonstration showcasing cool burn outcomes and regenerative farming improvements, followed by a producer-led Paddock to Plate dinner.
Registrations opening soon.

Golden Hill Farm is a small regenerative Paddock to Plate mixed enterprise in the Baffle Creek Catchment dedicated to the slow sustainable food movement and building local food security systems.

The producers have been working with BMRG as a demonstration farm to implement real on ground change to protect and enhance their soils, improve biodiversity and habitat on farm and manage their native vegetation and creek systems.

We will take a guided walk through a recently cool-burnt section of native forest to discuss the planning, techniques and ecological response to the burn. Participants will also experience a live cool burn demonstration in the paddock with talks from BMRG’s cool burn squad members.

An optional add on to this event will be a producer led dinner that will showcase some of the regions best produce, including barbeque meats from Golden Hill Farm. Note: This event is separate to the BMRG field day and supported by Golden Hill Farm. Learn more and book here: https://events.humanitix.com/golden-hill-farm-fire-banquet

This field day is supported by the Australian Government through funding from The Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program. Some of the demonstrations are also made possible by the Empowering Adaptive Graziers in the Burnett Mary Project, as part of the $6 million Grazing Practice Change Program, funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program.
