Managing Weeds and Pests in Priority sub-catchments of the Barambah Creek Catchment

Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) is leading a project of Weeds and Pests Management at Barambah Creek.

This project is a response from the Federal Government and Queensland Government to multiple significant rainfall and flooding events over the 2021-2022 severe weather season.

As a result, weeds exploded outcompeting native vegetation and feral pigs have been damaging banks.

The main goal of this project is to support native flora and fauna species to establish into resilient habitat through the management of invasive weeds and pigs.

The location to conduct this project is catchments of the Barambah Creek, including Boonara Creek, Nengur Creek, upper Barambah sub-catchment, and the Barambah/Cherbourg areas.

This project is funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments.
