Emissions Reduction Fund

The Emissions Reduction Fund is the main mechanism by which the Australian Government intends to achieve a target of reducing national greenhouse gas emissions by 5% based on 2000 levels by 2020.

Legislation to implement the Emissions Reduction Fund came into effect on 13 December 2014. The Emissions Reduction Fund replaces the Carbon Farming Initiative.  For information on the transition of the Carbon Farming Initiative to the Emissions Reduction Fund - click HERE.

Information on the Emissions Reduction Fund can be found on the Department of Environment's website or can be obtained from the Clean Energy Regulator.
