Riverbank Stabilisation & Riparian Recovery

Riparian-Damage.jpgThe long term sustainability of our region's landscapes is heavily dependent upon making our riparian areas more resilient to future flood events.

The River Bank Stabilisation and Riparian Recovery project seeks to establish effective buffers along riparian areas through revegetation with appropriate species to reduce the risk of future bank failures.

Incentives are available to landholders to address bank slumping, scouring and gullying in priority areas identified through BMRG produced aerial imagery and will be provided in conjunction with other projects and onground works.

Onground technical support and advice is available for all landholders within the priority areas on erosion stabilisation and long term riparian management.

Industry extension officers and community groups including Landcare groups will also receive advice and technical support.
