Reef Systems Repair

Under the Reef Systems Repair Programme BMRG is working in the Baffle (see map) and Burrum/Tinana (see map) catchments. The aim of the programme is to reduce the amount of suspended and fine sediment entering the Great Barrier Reef lagoon through protection, improved management and restoration of riparian and wetland vegetation.  Management activities aim to improve health and connectivity of the critically endangered Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia and to protect and enhance habitat for EPBC listed species (plants and animals).
