Coastal Vegetation & Wetland Management

saltmarsh.jpgCoastal ecological communities perform important ecosystem functions and have unique habitat values and biodiversity.  In our coastal region there are two threatened ecological communities listed under the Australian Government EPBC Act - Subtropical and temperate Coastal Saltmarsh and Littoral Rainforest and Coastal Vine Thickets.

The Maintaining Coastal Environments program supports land managers to protect and restore sensitive wetlands and important patches of littoral rainforest through fencing, weed and pest animal control, vehicle access management and fire management.
