North Burnett Landcare has confirmed its two Platinum partners for the 2008 Queensland
Landcare Conference being held in Monto, 21 - 24 September.
Trevor Gleeson, North Burnett Landcare President announced Burnett Mary Regional
Group and the Queensland Regional NRM Group's
Collective as high profile partners and Platinum sponsors for the 19th annual
Queensland Landcare Conference.
Mr Gleeson said "Burnett Mary Regional Group and the NRM Group's Collective have
put their money where their mouth is and shown a serious commitment to grass roots
sustainability in the Burnett region. This conference is expected to attract
400 people to Monto and inject some $350,000 into the North Burnett economy and
the event would not be possible without the support of sponsors such as BMRG."
David Brown, CEO of Burnett Mary Regional Group echoed Mr Gleeson's sentiments.
He said that Queensland's regional bodies were committed to supporting regional
and statewide awareness raising events such as the annual Landcare conference.
"This conference demonstrates how regional bodies and landcare groups are working
together to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable land management
across the state," David said. "I know I speak on behalf of the Regional NRM
Group's Collective when I say we are proud to be partners of this event."
