The wheels are in motion and the momentum is picking up in the planning of the 2008 Queensland Landcare Conference to be held in Monto in September 21 – 24 this year.

 

North Burnett Landcare Group are thrilled with the appointment of Wombat Creative Managing Director, Sam Morris as Event Manager for the Landcare Conference. 

Miss Morris brings a wealth of experience to the role, having co-ordinated several highly successful Queensland Landcare Conferences over recent years.

 

 “I’m very excited to be working with such a passionate group!  I’ve just returned to Australia after eight months in South America and other interesting places, so it’s nice to get stuck straight into a project like this!” Miss Morris said recently.

 

“The first meeting of the advisory group was held last week and as you can imagine, we have lots of information and suggestions to follow up.” 

 

Manager of Landcare Queensland, Emma Trigg said "it has been more than a decade since this annual conference was held in the Burnett and we are very excited about showcasing the projects and challenges related to land management around that region and further afield.”

"Pulling together a conference of this size in a town like Monto has unique challenges, so we are hoping to build many local and regional partnerships to ensure the event's success," Miss Trigg said.
