Reef Rescue Cane  Sugar is a very important industry in the Burnett Mary Region, Cane Growers in
this region are some of the most innovative anywhere in the
world. The Sugar industry is represented by three geographic partnerships in the
Burnett Mary Reef Partnership, each partnership is comprised of leading Industry
organisations supported by
the BMRG. The three regions are aligned with the Bundaberg, Isis, and Maryborough
Milling Districts. Sustainable SugarThrough the Burnett Mary Reef Partnership and with investment from the Australian
Government's Caring for our Country’s Reef Rescue package, Cane producers in the
region will able to access support to improve
land management. This investment will support activities which improve farm sustainability
and improve Reef Water Quality by reducing sediment, nutrients and pesticides
loss.
Support for GrowersIf you are a Cane Grower in the Bundaberg, Isis or Maryborough Milling districts
you may be eligible for financial assistance to carry out
a variety of property improvements. Your eligibility will depend on your property
being in the priority area (see priority map) and on the type of activities you wish to undertake. If you would like to know
