Tilapia - Save our rivers from Alien Invaders!
Tilapia are one of Australia’s worst introduced pests. Once they are released
into a river, they are very difficult to remove. They threaten native fish and
destroy their natural environment. Most tilapia are spread by people putting them
into rivers.
Spot the Aliens
Stop the Spread
LEARN to identify tilapia. If you spot them, call the DPI on 13 25 23.
DESTROY any tilapia that you catch and dispose of them AWAY from the water.
NEVER move tilapia and NEVER use them as bait as they carry
live young.
NEVER empty aquariums or fish tanks into creeks, rivers or dams.
