BMRG Membership

The Burnett Mary Regional Group for Natural Resource Management Inc (BMRG)  have recently completed a thorough review of our membership process and it has been determined that all future memberships will be accepted on an annual basis only, commencing from 1 December to 30 November in each given year.  Applications received at any time during this period, will be valid for that current year only regardless of the date the application was received.  Please note sector criteria as follows:

Industry sectors:
Primary Industry (Burnett Catchment)
An individual, group or body corporate undertaking Primary Industry in the Burnett River Catchment.
 
Primary Industry (Mary Catchment)
An individual, group or body corporate undertaking Primary Industry in the Mary River Catchment.
 
Secondary and Tertiary Industry
An individual, group or body corporate undertaking secondary or tertiary production in the Burnett Mary region.
 
Community sectors:
Catchment Care
An individual, group or body corporate with a demonstrated interest in enabling catchment management principles, including rivercare, in the Burnett Mary region.
 
Coastal Management
An individual, group or body corporate with a demonstrated interest in enabling coastal management principles in the Burnett Mary region.
 
Conservation
An individual, group or body corporate with a demonstrated interest in conservation and biodiversity principles as important to the future social and economic well-being of the Burnett Mary region.
 
Landcare
An individual, group or body corporate with a demonstrated interest in landcare principles in the Burnett Mary region.
 
Local Government Sectors:
Local Government
An organisation defined as operating a local government under the Local Government Act 1993 (as amended) and having at least part of the their local government area located in the Burnett Mary region.
 
Traditional Owners Sector:
Traditional Owner
An individual, group or body corporate who identifies as Traditional Owners under the Native Title Act 1993 (as amended) living within the Burnett Mary region or maintaing a strong connection to their country with respect to cultural practices and policy.
 
Affiliate Membership:
Any group or body corporate which in the opinion of the board is supportive of the objects of BMRG.  An Affiliate member is not required to live or operate a business in the Burnett Mary region and is not entitled to vote.
