Peter Andrews to share knowledge

One of Australia’s best known presenters on natural resource management will visit the central Burnett next month.

Mr Peter Andrews, the founder of the Natural Sequence Farming approach, will present a one day workshop on 16 July 2010 on the property of D & M Young, 171 Jankes Rd, Mundubbera.  The workshop will consist of a half day seminar followed by an on-field demonstration of his innovative approach which he trialled and tested on his property near Bylong in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

Mr Andrews featured in a four part series on the ABC TV's Australian Story program.  Following this, ABC Books released 'Back from the Brink', which describes Peter Andrew’s motivation and gives an overall description of his Natural Sequence Farming process.  The release of his second book, 'Beyond the Brink' has increased the demand for him to share his knowledge.

Many people believe Peter Andrews is way ahead of his time. He has gained fundamental insights to the natural functioning of the Australian landscape that leave him almost without peer. He has applied these insights in restoring his and other properties to fertility levels that he says existed upon European arrival in this country.

The cost to attend the workshop is $50 per person, which includes morning tea and lunch.  Places are limited therefore registration is essential.  Registration forms are available by telephoning the Burnett Catchment Care Association on (07) 4166 3898 or sending an email to admin@burnettcatchment.org. Registrations close on 13 July 2010.

Mr Andrew’s visit is an initiative of the Burnett Mary Regional Group and funded under the Australian Government's Caring for Our Country.
