Tide to Table welcomes Michelle!
Tide to Table is back with an investment of further funding from the Federal
Government through the Caring for our Country Community Coastcare program.
Tide to Table is a program of OceanWatch Australia, a national environmental,
not-for-profit company working to achieve sustainability in the Australian seafood
industry. The Tide to Table project will protect and rehabilitate priority coastal,
tidal wetland and estuarine habitats in the Burnett Mary Region which are critical
for sustainable fish populations.
OceanWatch Australia has employed Project Manager, Michelle Haase, to implement
the project. Michelle has an extensive background in developing and implementing
natural resource management projects, and supporting community based Landcare
and Bushcare groups. Having worked in the NRM field for over 7 years, Michelle
is experienced in implementing revegetation and rehabilitation projects, developing
funding submissions, and working with volunteers. Having worked with rural, urban
and coastal community groups throughout this time, Michelle has a comprehensive
understanding of the diverse NRM issues facing local councils, catchment management
authorities, landcare/bushcare groups, farmers/graziers, and rural communities.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Protected Area Management from
the University of Queensland (Gatton Campus).
Michelle has been working from home for the last 3 years as a Senior Associate
of FundAssist, honing her skills in developing successful funding applications
for local government and community groups. She lives at Alloway with her husband
Bruce, and children Liam and Hamish. Michelle will be based at the Bundaberg

Renewed funding through the Federal governments Caring for our Country program
has enabled Dave Kreutz to resume his role as OceanWatch Australia’s SeaNet officer.
“I have an expanded area of responsibility from Bowen to Tweed Heads including
the important area area covered by the BMRG” said Dave.” I’m looking forward to
re-establishing and expanding extension services to fishers, as well as complimenting
the ongoing Tide to Table program that Michelle Haase will be managing.”
