Regional Event Sponsorship

Application Guidelines & Assessment Process

How to apply for event sponsorship and professional development under the NRM Plan?

The Burnett Mary Regional Group for Natural Resource Management Inc (BMRG) is the peak coordinating body for natural resource management in the region under Caring for our Country.  As a non-government, non-profit organisation BMRG is working with the community, industry and government to manage, restore, use and conserve the diverse and highly valuable natural resources of the vast Burnett Mary region.

Identified in County to Coast – A Healthy Sustainable Future and associated Regional Investment Strategy (RIS) is the Community Capacity and Partnerships Action Program.  This Program outlines activities to be implemented that strive to establish links between government, industry, community and R&D organisations and increase regionally focused research and the regional skill-base in NRM.  This program also aims to significantly increase the participation of the Indigenous sector in NRM.  Funding for 2009/10 is to be rolled out as part of the Community Development, Engagement and Education program.

The emphasis of this program is for the effective engagement of the broader community to improve awareness levels and participation in NRM, as well as encourage and support the development of NRM related skills by all stakeholders.  It is envisaged that activities funded under this program will either directly or indirectly assist the achievement of on-ground outcomes being delivered through BMRG initiatives.  Information on these initiatives and funding packages can be found on the BMRG website, www.bmrg.org.au.

How much and how long?

The current funding offer is available until June 2010, with all activities to be completed by 30 June 2010.  Indicative funding available for individual Event Sponsorship and Professional Development applications is $2,000 and $350 respectively.  However applications received exceeding these amounts will be considered at BMRG’s discretion.  Unless otherwise stated, funding figures are exclusive of GST.
