Cats Claw Biocontrol
Gympie Landcare invests significant time and resources battling cat’s claw creeper vine.  Apart from establishing a best practice facility to breed biocontrol agents and undertaking on ground eradication of vines and tubers, Landcare has produced a highly informative brochure which is now available via a Quick Response (QR) code.  Smart phone and tablet users can click on the QR symbol for access to up to date information on cats claw creeper control. The group also rears biological control agents for cats claw creeper, though they may not always be available. Call or email to discuss an order at least one week before your planned collection date. Charges apply to recover the costs of raising plants and rearing the insects. The biocontrol facility is attended Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Volunteers to operate the facility, collecting and potting up tubers, maintaining the nursery and selecting plants and insects for distribution. Help is also welcome in monitoring weeds and biocontrol agents at release sites. If you can help, please contact Gympie Landcare.123.png
