BMRG is a community based, not for profit organisation that delivers targeted natural resource management outcomes for the Burnett Mary region.
What we Do
One of 14 regional bodies that cover Queensland, BMRG directs investment into community based programs and work closely with government, industry, community groups and individual landholders to implement projects that deliver positive outcomes in the areas of water quality, ecological diversity, sustainable land management practice, cultural heritage values and coastal and marine management.
The interconnectedness of ecosystems, species and the natural environment must be maintained and is an important component of a sustainable future. The goal for BMRG is to understand the issues that impact upon our natural systems and to find ways to address these issues.
Promoting partnerships for a sustainable future
The key to providing positive environmental outcomes lies in forming strong and resilient partnerships. We collaborate with federal, state and local government, Industry and community groups, Traditional owners and research institutions. Engaging communities and increasing their capacity and participation in natural resource management is also a priority. BMRG is committed to creating a wider understanding of natural resource management issues and creating a balance between resource conservation and resource use and building a sustainable future for the region.
